This article covers customizing and saving custom views for future use in SIMS. See the SIMS User Guide for other instructional SIMS articles.
Grid views in SIMS can be customized by adding, removing, reordering, and resizing columns to better accommodate your search preferences. Customized views can be saved and set as the default so your settings will be there every time you open SIMS.
Moving Columns
To move columns on the grid, click on the column header, then hold and drag it to the desired location.
Resizing Columns
To resize columns, hold the mouse between two columns. The cursor will change to the resize icon. Click and drag to resize.
Adding and Removing Columns
- To add or remove columns, hover over a column header and click on the down arrow that appears.
- Select Columns, the list of available columns will appear.
- Select the checkbox to add the column to the grid. Deselect to remove the column.
Sorting Rows
Clicking on any column header will sort the records by that column. Clicking again on the same column will reverse the sort.
Saving Views
To save a view that you have customized:
- Click on the Filters icon to open the filter pane (if not visible already).
- Click on the gear icon under Current View.
- In the dialog box that appears, enter a name for your view. If you leave Default View checked, this view will automatically open when you log in to SIMS in the future. Select Save.
Switching Views
Switch between views using the drop-down under Current View.
You can develop and save any number of views.
