About Campus MarketSpace
Campus MarketSpace was launched to help the University utilize space on the contiguous campus more effectively. Since units cannot be unassigned from a space until a new unit has been found to take over the space, it was previously difficult to see how much space is actually available for reassignment across the university. Campus Marketspace enables unit space planners to see what space is vacant or will potentially have upcoming vacancy.
How to Use Campus MarketSpace
There are a few views in SIMS and Tableau to use Campus MarketSpace.
Tableau Report
The Campus MarketSpace Tableau report allows unit space planners to quickly see what buildings have space available across the university, how much space is available in those buildings, and what floors the available spaces are located on in a map view.
SIMS
Features added to SIMS include the Campus MarketSpace Theme in the Facility Information module and the Campus MarkerSpace Scope in Dynamic Spreadsheets under the Reporting Module.
The Campus MarketSpace Theme allows unit space planners to see available space in floor plan view.
The Campus MarketSpace Scope in Dynamic Spreadsheets allows unit space planners to see available space in grid view. This enables searching for available space in SIMS and exporting the information for reporting.
How to Add or Remove Spaces
A PARE Space/Planning Request Form with the Request Type set to Campus MarketSpace will need to be submitted to add space to or remove space from Campus MarketSpace.
