Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

BIM Development Levels

Topic:

The BIM Development Level attribute is a Building level attribute in SIMS that defines to what level the building model has been developed to.  The available values are as follows:

Base

Standard C2B model created in house.

  • Includes all the base model items detailed in our standard C2B building modeling process.  Model items are detailed in BIM Switch process 8.2.1.

Additional

Standard B2B building received from a BIM project, or any model that is built out to the additional level within the architectural model.

  • Model items are detailed in BIM Switch process 8.2.4, but could include additional items if received from a project model.

Base + Partial MEP

Base + Partial MEP (linked models)

  • Our standard C2B model with partial MEP information.  Example a COE, or WMC building in which OSU customers are maintaining partial MEP information for a building the Architectural Services Team created internally.

Additional + Partial MEP

Additional + Partial would be something like McCampbell, where the MEP seems a bit more thin than what we get today

Full MEP

Standard B2B building received from a BIM project, or any model that is built out to the additional level within the architectural model, and contains a full range of MEP discipline models.
