Data QC from verification is easiest to do in ArcGIS Pro, but can be accomplished in ArcGIS Online through a configured application. Either is available upon request.
Advice for effective verification
- Fail fast train in increments- Have new field verification workers input only a few points before providing your first QC with them in real time. This will minimize clean up long term if you ensure it is being done correctly early on.
- Ensure all data to be collected is known and prioritized.
- Ensure their a is a data owner assigned to the data collection project who will attest to the quality of the data. Consider how the data will be re-verified in the future.
- Ensure the boundaries of work areas are explained.
- Ensure the workers are aware of weather conditions and safety is prioritized. Field verification done during a weather advisory is not recommended.
- Consider blocking out large portions of days to collect all at once or only collecting for short increments. Mixing both methods is harder to manage within the same project.
- Ensure the project has a clear focal point and reason for data collection. Share that reason with the collection team.
